GiftedKids.in ("we", "us", or "our") is India's first platform dedicated to identifying, nurturing, and advocating for gifted children. We take your privacy seriously — especially because many visitors are parents sharing information about their children.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.

2. What data we collect

• Email address — when you sign up through our community forms to receive articles, tools, and updates.

• WhatsApp messages — when you contact us via WhatsApp (+91 99713 23238), including your phone number and the content of your messages.
• Email correspondence — when you write to us at support@giftedkids.in.
• Information about children — only what you voluntarily share with us (for example, age, behaviour observations, school context, or assessment questions). We do not require you to provide a child's name or identifying details to use our educational content.

We do not knowingly collect payment card details on this website. We do not operate a user login system at this time.

3. Why we use your data

We process personal data for the following purposes:

• To respond to your enquiries and community sign-up requests.
• To send you articles, resources, and platform updates you have asked to receive.
• To understand how visitors use our site so we can improve content and navigation.
• To maintain the security and proper functioning of our website.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We process data based on your consent (for example, email sign-up and analytics cookies), our legitimate interest in operating and improving an educational platform, and compliance with law.

4. Third parties we work with

We share data only as needed to run GiftedKids.in. Our key service providers include:

We do not sell your personal data. We require service providers to handle data responsibly and only for the purposes we specify.

5. Children's data and parental consent

GiftedKids.in is designed for parents, teachers, and adults supporting children — not for children to use directly. Our content discusses gifted children, but the site is intended for adult readers.

If you share information about a child with us (via email, WhatsApp, or forms), you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian, or that you have appropriate authority to share that information. Please avoid sharing more detail than necessary — we do not need a child's full name, school name, or photographs to help you with general guidance.

If you believe we have received a child's personal data without proper consent, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

6. Cross-border data transfers

Some of our service providers (including Google, Meta, and Vercel) may process data on servers located outside India, including in the United States and other countries. Where required under the DPDP Act, we take reasonable steps to ensure that such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards and contractual protections.

By using our website and contacting us through third-party platforms, you acknowledge that your data may be processed in jurisdictions outside India.

7. How long we keep your data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

• Community email sign-ups: until you ask us to remove your address or we no longer send updates.
• WhatsApp and email correspondence: typically up to 3 years, unless a longer period is needed for ongoing support or legal compliance.
• Analytics data: as configured in Google Analytics (generally 14 months for event data).

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act and applicable rules, you may have the right to:

• Access — request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to update inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent (for example, email updates or analytics cookies), you may withdraw consent at any time.
• Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see below).

9. Grievance Officer
